Trina Varga

Trina means grass. In Ayurvedic Nighantus (classical lexicons of medicinal plants), plants are grouped into varga’s by shared characteristics, and Trina Varga covers the grasses and grass-like plants used as medicine. These plants are humble in appearance but have valuable cooling, diuretic and soothing properties, and many are also used in rituals and daily life, such as Darbha in ceremonies and Ushira in cooling drinks.
